Live event painting the Grand Opening of the Westin Nashville was such a joy. I was especially focused on the hotel details. It’s always my goal to capture the entire essence of the event into one painting, and in this piece you can see 3 floors: the lobby, 1st floor, and the rooftop. It was especially fun to piece this one together with so much going on!
My Music City hometown has become one of the country’s IT cities, and within a few hundred yards of the Westin are other iconic Nashville landmarks: Bridgestone Arena, Music City Convention Center, the AT&T Building (“Batman Building” for those in the know), as well a my personal fave, 21c Museum Hotel on 2nd Avenue. The artistic details and vision of the two hotels remind me of each other, and I’ve been honored to do several events at 21c as well. Both places are works of art in their own right.
